- Women’s basketball falls short of national title. The Bears’ magical run through the NCAA Division III tournament came to an end with a 64-55 loss to No. 2 Amherst College in the title game March 19 in Bloomington, Ill. The Bears (25-6) were there for the third season in a row and fourth time over the past five years. WUSTL defeated five straight top-10 opponents during its remarkable run to the title game.
